True agent autonomy cannot be achieved by relying on centralized, proprietary APIs. pi.dev is our fleet of specialized AI agents built to automate software development, monitor infrastructure, and handle business workflows using a hybrid brain architecture.

The Specialized Fleet

The system splits tasks among specific roles, avoiding the inefficiency of “all-purpose” generalist agents:

  • Orchestrator: Analyzes complex tasks, breaks them down into subtasks, and delegates work to specialists.
  • Manager (Nexus): Administers information flows and business logic states.
  • Developer: Writes, tests, and validates code autonomously.
  • InfraOps: Monitors the health of Proxmox servers and LXCs, and runs secure maintenance scripts.
  • Scrapers: Extracts structured data from external sources in real-time.
  • Tuxbot: My digital augmenting clone, the absolute filter, and operations lead of the agent fleet.

Hybrid Brain Architecture

To balance costs, latency, and data privacy, the fleet uses a smart model routing network distributed across three layers:

  1. Limitless On-Premise Inference (Ollama): Running inside a Proxmox LXC container dedicated. We run local models like gemma4:31b for heavy reasoning without data leaks and qwen3.6:35b-a3b for high-throughput coding tasks.
  2. Multi-Account Proxy (pi-antigravity-rotator): Channels external requests to rotating Google and Anthropic APIs (gemini-3.1-pro, claude-sonnet-4-6), enforcing rate limits and mitigating account bans automatically.
  3. OpenCode Go: Contingency access to frontier closed-source models (GLM-5, MiniMax M2.5) via dedicated API gateways.

Impact and Autonomy

This ecosystem processes thousands of executions weekly On-Premise. It allows intensive maintenance work, log auditing, and financial billing to run without human intervention, reducing friction to zero while keeping corporate data secure.
